Real Name

Akshay Kumar's real name is Rajeev Bhatia, son of Hari Om Bhatia who was a military officer. He name his production house Hari Om Production, on his Father’s name.

Martial Artist

From childhood he was interested in martial art and earned Black Belt in Taekwondo. Then he moved to Bangkok and learned Muay Thai and also worked as Chef and Waiter.

Accidental Model

After coming back to India he started teaching Martial Art. One of his student suggested him to be a model and ultimately led to a modelling assignment. He earned more money in two days compared to his monthly salary. At that time he decided to pursue a career in modelling.

Accidental Actor as Well

One day he missed his flight for a modelling assignment in Bangalore. Disappointed with himself, he visited a film studio along with his portfolio. Fortunately that evening, Kumar was signed for a lead role by producer Pramod Chakravarthy for the movie Deedar.

3-4 Films Every Year

In an interview he said that initially he did only commercial films because he had to earn money but now he have the luxury to choose films based on his interest. That’s why he still do 3 4 films a year, two commercial film and two film because of his interest. He even cut his rate to half if he like script and producer can’t afford full fee.

In Bollywood where every one’s night start at 3 4 am, Akshay Kumar still wake up at 5 AM and all his interviews are scheduled to 6 AM.

Akshay in many interview said that he won’t do makeover to look young in his movies. He says “If I am 50 I should look like 50″

No Equipment in Gym

Akshay Kumar’s gym is not a normal gym. He don’t have any equipment in his Gym. He do exercise, running, boxing and martial art to remain fit. He avoid Lift as much as possible.

No Dinner After Sunset

One more Interesting facts about Akshay Kumar is his Dinner timing. After 7 PM he don’t eat anything. In an interview to DNA he said that “After sunset, your body slows down. It doesn’t burn calories. You should not load your system after 7 pm. Also, I wake up early so my whole routine is like that.”

Akshay Kumar do have luxurious cars but you will see him in Honda CRV most of the time. He feels that Honda make best car according to Indian roads.

Down to Earth Son

His son Aarav who is also a Martial Artist, trained by Akshay Kumar go to school in small car. Akshay Kumar says that if he will do something very good then only he can have all luxuries. He even travel in economy or business class while Akshay and Twinkle Khanna travels in First class.

Surprised!! Yes, Akshay Kumar spends less than 10000 for personal expense. This does not include food which is provided at Set.
